Attacks by the West against Syria will not deter Damascus

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad declared, during a meeting with Senior Assistant to Iran’s Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, that the attack by the United States, France and Britain against his military installations will not deter Damascus in its efforts to eradicate terrorist organizations operating across Syria. President Assad emphasized that the Syrian military will continue with its successful efforts until control is recovered over all Syrian territory. The Iranian assistant to the Foreign Minister also condemned – what he termed as – “the aggression waged by the United States, Britain and France,” claiming that contrary to allegation of chemical weapons by the regime, “the true motivation behind the attack was the victories of the Syrian Arab Army and its allies against terrorist organizations.” The meeting between the two was said to focus on maintaining cooperation and coordination between Damascus and Tehran on the ongoing efforts to oust all extremist and foreign elements operating in Syria.
