Hospital staff finds explosive devices while treating a wounded Palestinian

The Israeli military spotted last night two Palestinian Islamists who were crawling from the southern Gaza Strip toward the border’s security fence with Israel. According to a statement by the IDF’s spokesperson’s unit, an IDF tank opened fire toward the Palestinians whom were documented attempting to infiltrate into Israel. According to the statement, several firebombs were discovered on the scene. The incident last night came on the heels of another tense day on Israel’s frontier with Gaza. In the course of the night, the IDF spotted another cell of three Palestinian Islamists trying to damage the border fence and to infiltrate Israel from the southern part of the enclave. The IDF Spokesperson’s Office said that the IDF fired at the “terror cell” and thwarted the attempted infiltration. Meanwhile, earlier in the day the IDF fired to deter Palestinian teenager who had made his way towards the border fence. The a 15-year-old boy was injured and was evacuated by the Israeli military to Barzilai Hospital in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon, where he was medically classified as being in serious condition. When treated by the Israeli medical staff at the hospital, the Palestinian teenager was found to be carrying on his person hand grenades and explosive devices. Thankfully, no injuries were reported to the medical staff and police sappers who arrived at the hospital defused the explosive devices.
