Iran vows to target Israel and the U.S. with “devastating” measures

The deputy head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned U.S. and Israeli leaders to expect a “devastating” response from Tehran, accusing them of involvement in an attack on a military parade in the Iranian city of Ahvaz. While attending the televised victim’s funeral, Hossein Salami vowed that Iran’s “response will be crushing and devastating,” and that Washington and Jerusalem will regret its actions against the Islamic Republic. Salami affirmed that “When you assassinated our (nuclear) scientists in the streets, you saw our revenge. You know what you (U.S. & Israel) did. We promise that our response will be crushing and devastating, and you will regret what you (referring to U.S. and Israeli leaders) have done.” Thousands of people packed the streets of the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz to mourn the 25 victims of Saturday’s assault, which included 12 members of the Islamic Republic’s Revolutionary Guards. It is important to note that Iran disregarded the fact that the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, by releasing a video claiming to show the three Islamist’s responsible, and continued to blame Israel and the United States.
