Iran’s Supreme leader Khamenei: Israel is showing “signs of collapse”

The Islamic Republic’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared during a pro-Palestine conference in Iran’s capital Tehran, that Israel was beginning to show signs of “collapse”. Khamenei, who spoke to some 700 delegates from 80 countries, said that the conference’s main achievement was that Muslims and militants, whom he defined as ‘freedom fighters’, from all around the world, jointly declared their active support to the Palestinian fight against the Jewish state.

“One of the achievements of this valuable conference is announcing the first priority of the world of Islam and freedom fighters all over the world, which is the issue of Palestine and the creation of the atmosphere of harmony and unanimity with the purpose of achieving the lofty goal of supporting the people of Palestine and their truth and justice oriented fight,” said Khamenei.

The summit titled ‘the sixth international conference of the Palestine intifada’, aimed at showing solidarity of the Muslim world to the Palestinian people and their violent struggle against the Jewish state. With all speakers condemning Israel for what they said was the ‘occupation of Muslim lands’, Ayatollah Khamenei declared that a global effort against Israel was soon to emerge.

“With the emergence of signs of the collapse of the Zionist Regime (Israel) and the weakness that has dominated its main allies, in particular the U.S., it is witnessed that the global environment is gradually moving towards confronting the hostile, the illegal and the inhuman actions of the Zionist Regime,” added Khamenei.

The words by the Iranian supreme leader, who on a regular basis calls for Israel’s destruction, comes amid heightened tension with Israel, and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is advocating a stronger international stance against Iran’s growing aggression in the Middle East and violations of international demands, including the testing of a ballistic missile, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
