More than 10,000 Palestinians attend violent rallies along the Gaza-Israel border

Over 10,000 Palestinians participated in violent demonstrations along the Gaza-Israel border fence over the weekend, with multiple incidents of fire bombs and grenades thrown toward IDF troops. In one incident, an IDF soldier sustained light injuries and was evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. During the protests, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that one man was killed and more than 300 were wounded, including five who sustained serious injuries. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s unit, the Palestinian demonstrators hurled bombs and grenades during the riots, burned tires and threw stones at IDF troops and the border fence. Furthermore, several attempts to cross the border fence were made, and IDF soldiers responded with crowd-control measures and opened fire in accordance with the rules of engagement dictated by the political leadership in Jerusalem.
