Naval cooperation between Greece and Israel growing stronger

Military cooperation between Israel and Greece is reportedly growing stronger. A large Greek Navy vessel carrying hundreds of naval cadets, who are anticipated to command warships in the Greek military, arrived in the Israeli northern port of Haifa this week. The Israeli Navy saw the ‘operational-potential’ and decided to hold a naval exercise off the coast of Haifa, including a few scenarios of cooperation. Cooperation with Greece is among the best that the IDF enjoys with foreign countries. Greece may not face security challenges, but the fact that the Greek military is part of NATO makes it a substantial factor in the Middle East. For that reason, the IDF often conducts joint exercises with the Greek Navy and Air Force.
