Netanyahu instructs security cabinet to hold meetings in ‘doomsday bunker’

All of Israel’s security cabinet meetings from now until early July will be held at the National Crisis Management Center, which is situated in an underground bunker in the Jerusalem area. The decision to hold the meetings in the bunker was made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, yet officials in the Prime Minister’s Bureau refused to comment on the circumstances that led to the decision. It is important to note, however, that the bunker, which is also known as the “doomsday bunker,” is impervious to sophisticated missiles that could also be equipped with chemical, biological or nuclear war-heads. One reported assessment on the Prime Minister’s decision indicates a signal to the Islamic Republic of Iran and its regional proxies, that the Israeli government is prepared and ready for any possible scenario.
