PM Netanyahu: President Trump created an opportunity to fix the nuclear deal with Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a televised address to the annual summit of the Saban Forum, focused primarily on the growing threat from the Islamic Republic of Iran – citing the recent statement by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia who referred to Iran’s supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as the new Hitler of the Middle East. Netanyahu emphasized that when a tyrant calls for the annihilation of the Jewish state, it cannot be taken lightly, and emphasized Israel’s policy to assure the preservation of its national security interests – stressing that Jerusalem would not allow the Islamic Republic to attain nuclear weapon capabilities or entrench itself militarily in Syria.

With regard to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, JCPOA, also known as the Iranian nuclear agreement, the Israeli leader stressed that while its flaws could lead to a nuclear-armed Iran within a decade, US President Donald Trump has created an opportunity to “fix the deal.”
