Syrian forces regain strategic town after heavy clashes force rebels out

Government forces, together with their allies, continue to make gains in the war-torn-country, that despite the American strike on Assad’s air-base that effectively destroyed some 20 percent of his operational air force. According to reports, the Syrian military, supported by Iranian-backed Shi’ite militias and heavy Russian air strikes, regained a strategic town near the city of Hama, with most of the rebels retreating from the town after heavy clashes with troops loyal to President Bashar Assad forced.
