Turkey distributes humanitarian aid to Syria’s Afin region

Turkey distributed aid in the town of Abu Keb, located in the rural parts of Afrin, after it ousted the Kurdish YPG militia from the northern Syrian territory. Turkey’s Disaster Management Agency director Omer Akbas said they have thus far managed to distribute around 1,000 boxes of food and 1,000 hygiene boxes a day in the town. “We are distributing daily one thousand food boxes, one thousand hygiene boxes and hot food between one or two thousand portions in some areas depending on necessity,” Turkish Disaster Management Agency – HATAY Omer Akbas said.

Syrian residence of Afrin voiced their gratitude of Turkey’s victory, accusing the Kurdish YPG militia of cruelty, by thwarting their attempts to flee the war-zones, in an effort to gain international support. “The (Syrian Kurdish YPG militia) were cruel to us, they destroyed our houses, they did not let us leave. We are thankful to Turkey,” , Syrian Resident of Afrin Region Mohammad Hasan said.
