Arab League condemns Israel, calls for international investigation on Gaza-events

The Arab League convened a meeting at the request of the Palestinians, on the latest developments on the Gaza Strip’s border with Israel. The meeting, which was held at the level of permanent delegates of the League, concluded with a unified position by its member states, in which they expressed support for a request to advance an investigation, by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, into what they claimed were “Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity” against peaceful Palestinian protesters.

The Arab League, which consists – among others – out of Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, Libya and Qatar– also urged the United Nations to take the required measures to form an international committee that will probe Israel’s actions during the violent demonstrations that took place on the border with Gaza, last Friday.
