Car bombing in southeast Turkey kills 8, dozens wounded

A car bomb exploded this morning at a police headquarters in Turkey’s largely Kurdish southeast, killing at least eight and wounded dozens of others. Hospital sources initially said that nine people were killed and 64 wounded, but an official later said the toll was eight. It was not clear whether the casualties were civilians or police officers. Turkish security sources told TV7 that the attack might have been perpetrated by the Kurdish PKK, which is an internationally recognized terror organization. The government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has blamed the PKK for a series of attacks earlier this month in the southeast, while the group has claimed responsibility for only one of the attacks on a police station, however, ho one has claimed responsibility for the attack this morning, as of yet.
