Iran blames Israel for a series of cyber-attacks

Iran’s telecommunications minister accused Israel of an attempted cyber-attack, which targeted the Islamic Republic’s telecommunications infrastructure – just one week after Iran claimed to have uncovered a new generation of Stuxnet, a virus which was used against the country’s nuclear program a little more than a decade ago.

In a statement the Iranian telecommunications minister made on Iran’s state television, the Israeli attack also targeted the Islamic Republic’s cellular network. Minister Azari Jahromi further stressed that Tehran would take legal action against Israel at international bodies, yet stop short from providing additional details.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office did not immediately respond to TV7’s request for comment.
