Iran describes Israel as “the most terrifying threat” to peace and stability

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani addressed the United Nations General Assembly last night, during which he claimed that “Israel, which has a nuclear arsenal and is blatantly threatening others with nuclear annihilation, is the most terrifying threat to the peace and stability of the region and the world,” while accusing the United States of providing Jerusalem with an umbrella that allows the Jewish state act in whatever manner it pleases to. Regarding the latest measures taken by the United States against his country, the Iranian leader blamed the Trump Administration of waging an unjust “economic war” against Tehran, by re-imposing unilateral sanctions. Rouhani said, “The United States policy vis-à-vis the Islamic Republic of Iran has been wrong from the beginning, and its approach of resisting the wishes of the Iranian people, as manifested in numerous elections, is doomed to failure.”
