An Air Force deputy squadron commander, Major Ohad Cohen-Nov, was killed while trying to land his aircraft at the Israeli Ramon Air Force base after returning from an airstrike on the Gaza Strip. The pilot and navigator ejected from their F-16i fight-jet during the landing because of a malfunction. The pilot was killed and the navigator sustained light injuries. An investigation was launched into the incident.
