An Israeli Air Force fighter jet shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the Islamist Hamas organization, which was making its way from the Gaza Strip to the Mediterranean Sea. The Palestinian drone was reportedly shot down before it managed to infiltrate Israel’s airspace, and crashed into the sea. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit released a statement in which it emphasized that “the IDF will not allow any violation of Israel’s airspace and will act resolutely against any such attempt.” Hamas was not immediate available for comment.
