Israel’s Iron Dome Defense system launches some 10 anti-rocket missiles

Israel’s Iron Dome anti-rocket defense system launched some 10 missiles last night, as rocket-alert-sirens sounded across southern Israel. Following a preliminary investigation into the incident, the IDF confirmed that the anti-rocket systems fired in response to machine-gun fire that originated from the Gaza Strip, and not against incoming rockets. A defense-industries source told TV7 that an investigation was launched into the incident to identify the cause behind the malfunction that triggered the highly-advanced rocket-interceptor to launch several missiles against machine-gun-fire. That said, the source emphasized the readiness of the Iron Dome Defense Systems to intercept ‘almost all’ short-range rockets that will be fired toward Israel’s communities.
