Jerusalem seeks to distance Iranian militias from its border

The London-based Al-Hayat newspaper reported that Israel was involved in talks between the United States and Russia that discussed the creation of a buffer zone in Syria. During the talks, that took place some two weeks ago in Jordan, Israel reportedly demanded of Washington and Moscow that the Iranian militias operating in Israel’s northern neighbor, be distanced some 50 kilometers away from the Israeli border. The report revealed that the Iranian militias are presently located some three kilometers from the Israeli-Syrian border and are operating freely from Syrian military positions.
