American officials revealed that the Obama administration, just a few hours before Trump was sworn-in, defied Republican opposition and quietly released 221 million dollars to the Palestinian Authority. A State Department official and several congressional aides said the outgoing administration formally notified Congress it would spend the money Friday morning, just before Donald Trump became president. The official and the aides requested to stay anonymous as they were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
