Palestinian Islamists fire rocket from Gaza toward Israel’s southern communities

Palestinian Islamists have yet again fired a rocket from the Gaza Strip toward Israel’s southern communities. The rocket exploded in an open area in the Sdot Negev regional council, causing no injuries or damage. In response to the rocket fire, Israel targeted two Hamas installations in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave, which it said belonged to the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamist organization. The IDF spokesperson’s unit issued a statement in which it said “The attack was conducted in response to a high-trajectory weapon fired at Israeli communities,” while reiterating its position, in which the “IDF sees the Hamas terrorist organization as being solely responsible for what occurs in the Gaza Strip.”
