Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas a liar

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during an official state visit of his Romanian counterpart Sorin Grindeanu, criticized Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for lying to US President Donald Trump during his meeting at the White House. Netanyahu pointed to the ongoing payments Abbas transfers to families of Palestinian prisoners, incarcerated in Israeli jails on conviction of terror related offenses, as well as payments to families of Palestinians that were killed during acts of terror against Israeli civilians and soldiers.

“I heard President Abbas yesterday say that they teach, Palestinians teach their children peace. That’s unfortunately not true. They name their schools after mass murderers of Israelis and they pay terrorists. But I hope that it’s possible to achieve a change and to pursue a genuine peace. This is something Israel is always ready for. I’m always ready for genuine peace,” said Netanyahu.
