Trump: Anyone doing business with Iran will not do business with the U.S.

U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized in a statement on his twitter account that “Anyone doing business with Iran will not be doing business with the United States.” The American leader stressed that the economic measures, which he termed as “the most biting sanctions ever imposed” aim at bringing about “world peace,” while pointing to additional sanctions that are set to target the Islamic Republic’s oil exports and central bank will “ratchet up” the economic pressure against Tehran “to yet another level.” A White House official told TV7 that unless Iran agrees to return to the negotiating table, it will face additional measures following the full implementation of economic sanctions. The official emphasized that the sanctions are implemented to serve as pressure on Iran to re-evaluate its malign activities on all fronts, to prevent its efforts to develop a nuclear weapon, as well as its active pursuit of regional dominance. When asked if Iran would not succumb to Washington’s pressure, the official noted that “all options remain on the table to assure Iran’s eventual compliance.”
