President Donald Trump Lands in Israel for first official state visit

Following President Trump’s departure from Saudi Arabia, the American leader landed in Israel’s Ben Gurion international Airport this afternoon, where he was welcomed by President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Following a brief state reception at the airport, President Trump travelled to Jerusalem, where he was received by his Israeli counterpart, Reuven Rivlin, at the President’s residence. In a joint press conference, President Rivlin thanked his American counterpart for his commitment to Israel, in facing both the threats of today as well as those of tomorrow.
Following his meeting with President Rivlin, the American leader headed to Jerusalem’s old city where he visited both the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. From there President Trump headed to the King David Hotel, where he held a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after which President Trump, together with his wife Melania, accompanied Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sarah to the Prime Minister’s residence for an official state dinner, which is still ongoing.
