Israel’s new government: prospects & challenges – Jerusalem Studio 614

In Israel’s 73-year history, no government has ever had to work harder to get to the starting line.
But two and a half years after the political crisis began, and two and a half months since the latest elections, the Bennett-Lapid government is on the launching pad. It brings together under one roof improbable left and right, religious and secular, Jewish and Arab partners.
And while this government’s declared aspiration to unseat Caretaker Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pending a confidence vote in parliament next Sunday – it remains to be seen whether this criteria is enough to keep the ideologically diverse coalition together for the long haul.
Panel:
- Jonathan Hessen, Host.
- Amir Oren, TV7 Analyst and Host of Watchmen Talk.
- Former Knesset member Dov Lipman.
- Mr. Mitchell Barak, CEO Kevoon Research Group.

The clichés have been used so many times that they have worn thin: “All options on the table,” “All means at our disposal, “Plan B,” “Other tools in our box.” These are of course intended to signal, indicate and threaten - without being direct about it.
