Washington will not insist on a two-state solution

The White House has been signaling to Jerusalem that it will not insist on a two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A senior White House official said on condition of anonymity that the Trump Administration would not dictate the terms for a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, but would rather support whatever the parties agree upon. The official emphasized that a two-state solution that does not bring peace is not a goal that anyone wants. The goal is peace, either by a two-state solution or by another agreed-upon solution.
