Syria: Israel determines not to permit Iranian entrenchment

Security officials have yet again stressed that Israel was determined not to permit any entrenchment of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Syria. Security officials told TV7 this morning in response to an Iranian statement – in which it denied that it had built a missile base in Syria – that Iran was trying to create a new equation in its aspiration to establish regional hegemony. The Islamic Republic said in a statement yesterday that the allegations of an establishment of an Iranian missile base in Syria was an invention of Israel and the United States that systematically seek to demonize Iran. The statement further emphasized that the Islamic Republic has entered the civil war in Syria on the request of President Bashar Assad’s government in Damascus, which is the only legitimate authority within the war-torn-country.
