The past couple of months have shown European nationals flooding the streets of major cities in the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Poland, and elsewhere – while electoral gains have thus far proven futile in dramatically altering aspired discourse of respective European countries.
Moreover, instead of hearing the plight of their indigenous and culturally integrated societies, the majority of European governments – to include the European Commission in particular – have opted to evidently suppress the public outcry by promoting new censorship laws, smear campaigns, and – in some countries – utilizing the judiciary against those who would defiantly speak-out.
Now, David Betz, a leading Professor of War in the Modern World in the Department of War Studies at King’s College in London, warns that “a combination of culturally fractured societies, economic stagnation, elite overreach and a collapse of public confidence in the ability of normal politics to solve problems…” has escalated to a point in which the primary threat to European security and well-being today is not external but internal – specifically, civil war.
