PM Netanyahu: Pres. Trump did not grant Israel a “blank check”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that US President Donald Trump had not granted Israel a “blank check” regarding the country’s policies, during the American leader’s recent visit to the region. Netanyahu stressed that even though Israel is a sovereign nation that “can decide and declare a lot of things”, it must take into account the position of Washington.

The Prime Minister further pointed to the fact that President Trump emphasized during his visit the desire of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to reach a peace agreement, an aspired solution to the conflict which Israel also hopes to achieve, thus Netanyahu urged his government to act in a responsible manner to allow President Trump the chance to broker, what he referred to as, “the ultimate deal.”
