Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the skill and “unique abilities” of Russia’s military intelligence, in a show of support for the Kremlin’s intelligence agency. Speaking at a closed ceremony at the Russian Army’s theatre in Moscow, which was broadcast on national television, Putin took thanked military intelligence officers for their “huge role” in liquidating militant leaders and infrastructure in Syria. “In keeping with the Russian military tradition, our intelligence officers have never retreated, they always accurately carried out orders. And I will add that peace has returned to many regions of Syria, bloodshed was stopped and the ways to find harmony were opened – and it is also important that we dealt such a blow on the terrorists that prevents their return to our territory – is undoubtedly a great achievement of military intelligence,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
While President Putin saluted Moscow’s agents for carrying out daring special operations – which according to him – ‘provided a model for a future generation’, the Russian leader also stressed the the need to help the Russian Intelligence agency develop and upgrade its capabilities.
