Two mortar shells explode in Israel’s Golan Heights

Two incidents were reported in which mortar shells exploded on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights. One mortar shell exploded near a school in Israel’s northern kibbutz, Natur, while another mortar hit a house in the Druze village of Majdal Shams. No injuries were reported in both incidents, yet damage was caused to the house in Majdal Shams. An Israeli military official who is tasked with monitoring the situation on Israel’s northern frontier with Syria told TV7 that both mortars are believed to be spillover from the war in Syria. That said, the official noted that the IDF maintains the right to respond to any violation against Israel’s sovereignty, and will take the appropriate actions to assure the safety of the country’s civilian population.
