Another stabbing attack in Jerusalem’s old city in less than a week

A Palestinian man stabbed and wounded two Israeli civilians and one police officer in Jerusalem old city over the weekend, in the second attack in less than a week. Police said the ‘Palestinian terrorist’ was neutralized during a confrontation with border police officers who pursued the attacker when he attempted to flee the scene, after he stabbed and wounded two civilians. During the confrontation, the Palestinian attacker managed to stab one of the officers before they opened fire and killed the assailant. The wounded, who were reported in light and moderate condition, were evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police identified the attack as a resident of the West Bank who managed to enter Israel illegally.

“During these past few days we are finishing our organizations toward the holidays we are in full capacity and we are fully vigilant. In order to keep the peace we are spread across the entire city we will handle every incident. In any attempt to attack Security Forces we will react they way we reacted in the past in order to neutralize any such attempt,” said Yoram Halevi, Jerusalem Police Chief.
