Attack on a police checkpoint in Sinai kills eight, wounds thirteen

At least seven Egyptian policemen and one civilian were killed in an attack on a checkpoint in the northern Sinai city of Al-Arish, where attackers planted a bomb inside a street cleaning vehicle that they stole a few days earlier. After the bomb exploded, attackers fired guns and rocket-propelled grenades at the police checkpoint. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which also wounded 13 people, including four civilians.
