Czech Republic recognizes West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

The Czech Republic announced last night that it recognizes Jerusalem within the 1967 borders as Israel’s capital – effectively adopting Russia’s approach to the question of Jerusalem. The Czech Foreign Ministry issued a statement noting that it viewed Jerusalem as the future capital of two states and that it would consider moving its embassy to Jerusalem based on the outcome of negotiations that it would hold with its partners in the region and throughout the world.

Meanwhile, the Philippines also relayed to Israel messages expressing its willingness to move its embassy to Jerusalem.
