EU drafts a masterplan for the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem without Israel’s knowledge

It was learned from a meeting of the Israeli Parliament’s subcommittee of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that the European Union is subverting Israel’s responsibility and authority in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, in what officials termed ‘unacceptable and unprecedented.’ According to the revelation, the European Union has drafted a transportation infrastructure master plan for those areas, which it does not view – in accordance with international law – as part of Israel. The EU’s master plan includes the construction of airports, seaports, and a network of railway lines and roads that would connect the West Bank to the Gaza Strip. An Israeli official told TV7 that the European Union did not inform or involve Israeli authorities of its plans, even though the plan pertains to territories under Israeli responsibility. The source further condemned the European Union for trying to force its will on Israel, including in East Jerusalem – which is the indivisible and eternal capital of the Jewish state. The European Union did not immediately respond to TV7’s request for comment.
