IDF intensifies operation against Palestinian shooting attacks in the West Bank

A high-ranking IDF official revealed in a briefing to Israeli military

affairs correspondents that the Judea and Samaria Division, which is the
military’s Division operating in the West Bank, had significantly
intensified its efforts in the past months to thwart shooting attacks by
Palestinian against Israeli civilians and forces. Even though the official
said that the intensified effort to thwart those terror attack, along with
combating the production of makeshift weapons by Palestinian militants, four
shooting attacks were reported in the last few days.

IDF officials are wary of determining that the murderous wave of violence has come to an end, even
though statistics indicate that the West Bank has returned to the situation
that existed before the wave of terrorism, which plagued the Jewish state
since October of 2015 and claimed the lives of 39 Israelis and two visiting
American tourists.
