IDF strikes Hamas targets following attack on Israel

Palestinian Islamists have launched an incendiary balloon from the Gaza Strip towards Israel’s southern communities. The balloon exploded next to a residential structure in Kibbutz Nir Oz, which is located in the Eshkol Regional Council.

Despite the fact that a family was present in the residential structure at the time of the attack, no injuries were reported. That said, balloon’s explosion caused extensive damage to the exterior of the house. In response, the Israeli Air Force targeted several Hamas installations in central Gaza Strip.

A Gazan source told TV7 that the Israeli Air Force fired eight missiles in total toward two sites belonging to Hamas in the Deir Al-Balah and Khan Younis neighborhoods. Both installations sustained severe damage.

Separately, the IDF Spokesperson’s unit released a statement in which it underscored that it “views any attempt to hurt Israeli civilians severely and will continue to operate against these attacks.” The statement added that the IDF views Hamas as solely responsible “for all activities in the Gaza Strip and from it” and for “the consequences of terror activities” emanating from the Palestinian enclave.
