Iran dismisses near clash with U.S. in Persian Gulf

Tensions continue to run high in the Persian Gulf after Iran’s Defense Minister Amir Hatami dismissed his country’s reported harassment of U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships operating in the area.

Per TV7’s corroborated report, 11 Iranian vessels belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards’ Navy, acted provocatively toward a group of American Navy vessels. The U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet referred to the incident as “dangerous and provocative,” while further warning that such actions increase the risk of miscalculation and collision.

In response, The Iranian Defense Minister dismissed the reported incident as “baseless.” Instead, he insisted that the “illegal and aggressive” American presence in the Gulf was the true cause for insecurity in the region.

It is important to explain that the Iranian Defense Minister’s statement was made on Iran’s domestic IRNA news agency, which censors evident footage available to you on TV7, which clearly incriminates the Islamic Republic’s malign behavior.
