Israeli communities under rocket-fire following Gaza bombardment

Palestinian Islamists launched two rockets early this morning from the Gaza Strip toward Israel’s southern communities. The projectiles exploded in uninhabited areas in the Sdot Negev Regional Council, causing no injuries or damage.

The Palestinian rocket-fire was apparently in response to an overnight bombardment, by the Israeli Air Force, of Hamas militant targets in the northern Gaza Strip. In a statement by the IDF spokesperson’s unit, the IDF struck a number of terror targets in a Hamas military compound in response to “explosive and arson balloons (that) were launched (yesterday) from the Gaza Strip” toward Israeli territory.

In its statement, the IDF insisted that “the Hamas terror organization is responsible for all events transpiring in the Gaza Strip and emanating from it” and underscored that it “views any attempt to harm Israeli civilians with great severity and will continue operating against these attacks.” The Islamist Hamas organization did not immediately respond to TV7’s request for comment.
