The high state of alert continues in Israel’s security establishment due to concern that the attack in Jerusalem could initiate a series of other attacks, a familiar pattern that has occurred after similar incidents in the past. The IDF has sent reinforcements to all sectors across the country, primarily to Jerusalem. A military source told TV7 that the terror attack again illustrated the danger of the increase in the use of weapons. A significant increase in the number of shooting incidents has been noted since the start of the year versus the same period last year, even though the number of attacks during that period was significantly higher. Since the beginning of the year IDF forces have shut down more than 30 workshops used to manufacture of weapons.
