Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held a video conference with the leadership of all Palestinian factions.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah participated in the virtual discussion from Beirut, where they are currently holding talks with Lebanese leaders and others.
The declared goal of the meeting was the unification of all rival Palestinian factions for the purpose of “confronting the U.S. peace initiative that promotes normalization between Israel and the Arab and Muslim world.”
