IDF strikes alleged near Damascus

Iranian weapon-caches in Syria were targeted by unidentified aircraft overnight, in what regime officials claimed to have been an Israeli bombardment.

Multiple missiles were launched from the airspace of neighboring Lebanon at Syrian military installations near the old Damascus-Beirut highway northwest of the capital at about 1 AM local time. Damascus residents reported hearing at least one explosion.

Despite the deployment of Syria’s aerial defense array, warehouses believed to be operated by the Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah terror group to store precision guided munitions were reportedly destroyed.

The SANA news agency cited a military source saying the strikes wounded 4 soldiers and caused material damage.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stopped short from confirming nor denying involvement in the attack following TV7’s request for comment.
