Gazan Islamists launch a rocket toward Israel

Islamist Palestinians have, in two separate incidents, launched rockets and clusters of balloons attached to explosive devices from the Gaza Strip toward Israel‘s southern communities. While the projectile was intercepted over the Eshkol Regional Council by an Iron Dome anti-rocket defense system, the cluster of balloons landed in an open area, where the explosive device detonated. No injuries or damage were reported in either incident.

In response, Israeli Airforce fighter-aircrafts struck several military targets in a Hamas compound, located in the southern district of the Gaza Strip. A statement by the IDF spokesperson’s unit reiterated that it “views any attempt to harm Israeli civilians with great severity” and vowed to “continue to operate with determination” against any terror that emanates from the Palestinian enclave. The IDF further underscored that it holds the Islamist “Hamas terror organization” accountable for all events that transpire in-and-from the Gaza Strip.
