IDF forces entered the West Bank al-Aroub refugee camp in pursuit of a group of Palestinian men who hurled rocks and firebombs toward Israeli civilian vehicles. While inside the camp they were reportedly confronted by a large mob that posed an imminent threat to their lives.
According to Palestinian health officials, one man was killed during the incident.
An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed the incident to TV7, saying that the troops were forced to open fire when confronted by “a large number of rioters,” some of them wielding petrol bombs. She further added that an investigation was launched into the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.
