West Bank terror-attack thwarted by civilians

An attempted terror attack was thwarted this morning at a traffic-stop adjacent to the West Bank Palestinian village of Huwara, which is located south to the city of Nablus.

According to the IDF spokesperson’s unit, a Palestinian assailant blocked an Israeli vehicle, before charging toward its driver with a knife in hand. The intended victim immediately responded by opening fire at the attacker, who was in the process of trying to open his vehicle’s door. An Israeli truck-driver who witnessed the incident unfold, exited his vehicle and also opened fire toward the assailant, who sustained critical injuries. The Palestinian terrorist was then evacuated to an Israeli medical facility, where he succumbed to his wounds. No injuries were reported among the Israeli civilians present at the scene.

Following the attempted terror attack, Chairman of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan praised the Israeli civilian’s quick response. He said, “This is how one should act — firmly, against those who seek our harm, and with no fear.”
