2 Israelis hurt in Arab terror attack

Two Israeli police officers sustained light injuries this morning when a Palestinian assailant deliberately rammed his vehicle into a security roadblock at the Tapuach Junction, south of the West Bank city of Nablus.

The terror attack occurred shortly after 8:00 AM as security checks are conducted in the vicinity. After crashing his vehicle into officers standing by a police car, the attacker exited his vehicle with a knife in hand. Police Spokesman Superintendent Micky Rosenfeld told TV7 that “the terrorist was shot and injured moderately” when he was shot by another officer.

The terrorist received medical care at the scene before being transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Jerusalem for further treatment.

Supt. Rosenfeld said that “heightened security is continuing in order to prevent any further terrorist attacks from taking place.”
